3. Take Slight 1st Left (past Fortune Hotel Sullivan Court on the right), go 0.5 km
   
4. Take Slight 1st Right, go 0.2 km
   
5. Take Slight 4th Left, go 1 km
   
6. Continue down SH8 Hwy: 1.4 km
   
7. Slight 1st Left onto SH8 Hwy, go 4.1 km.
   Enter The Nilgiris District at 2.6 km.
   
8. Slight Left onto SH8 Hwy, go 10 km.
   Leave Kethi.
   Enter Coonoor at 1.4 km.
   
9. Slight Left onto SH8 Hwy, go 52 km.
   Via The Nilgiris District at 10 km.
   Enter Coimbatore District at 10 km.
   Via Mettupalayam, Karamadai, Veerapandi, Periyanaicken-Palayam, Gudalur, Narasimhanaicken-Palayam, Ashokapuram at 40 km.
   Enter Thudiyalur at 52 km.
   
10. Continue down NH67 Hwy: 4.7 km.
    Enter Coimbatore.
    
11. Continue down Muttupalayam Rd(NH67 Hwy): 2 km
    
12. Continue down NH67 Hwy: 1.2 km (Past SM Hospital on the right)
    
13. Left onto Mills Rd(NH47 Hwy), go 0.5 km
    
14. Straight (Keep Right) on Mills Rd(NH47 Hwy) flyover, go 0.1 km
    
15. At Uppilipalayam Flyover, take 1st exit onto Uppilipalayam Flyover(NH47 Hwy), go <100m overall
    
16. 1st Left on Mills Rd(NH47 Hwy) flyover, go 0.4 km
    
17. Continue down Avanashi Rd(NH47 Hwy): 2.1 km (Past Dhanalakshmi Complex on the left)

Ooty Travel Notes

Note 1:
Climbing Routes: Ooty can be climbed by road from either Mettupalayam direction or from Mysore/Gudalur direction. Mysore route forks out at Mudmalai and merges back at Gudalur, either route will be scenic.

Note 2:
Train Route: The supposedly world famous Mettupalayam to Ooty Nilgiris Mountain Railway is another option to climb up. It can be booked separately or along with your journey from Chennai or any other station to Coimbatore.

Note 3:
Driving Down by road: Ooty Ghat roads are quite slippery during rains, so novice drivers need to take extra care while driving down. Its better to check your brakes, tires before starting the journey, and give ample breaks for your engine, break-chords to cool down. Even if it is not required, it is always better to drive down in lower gears which give you better grip on the road, and always remember to leave way for vehicles climbing up.
